Maple Garlic Salmon
Salmon is my favorite food. This is my go-to way to cook it. The marinade is savory, garlicky, and just a bit sweet.
Note: Be careful not to overcook the fish. Salmon is best served slightly pink. If you are uncertain, err on the side of making sure the salmon is fully cooked.
Consider pairing with:
- Whole grain rice, roasted fingerling potatoes, or mashed potatoes
- Asparagus, broccoli, or brussels sprouts
- A white or mild red wine
Recipe:
Serves: 2-4 Cook Time: 1 hr
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 fillet salmon
Directions:
- In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Place salmon in a shallow glass baking dish, and coat with the maple syrup mixture. Cover the dish, and marinate salmon in the refrigerator 30 minutes, turning once.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Once marinated, place the baking dish in the preheated oven, and bake salmon uncovered 8-12 minutes, or until easily flaked with a fork.
